To Know how to optimize your website to get you that top 10 ranking in Google, is what every internet marketer wants to know. There are millions of sites out there competing for that No 1 position . If you are on page one that’s OK but it is best to be in the first three positions for optimal exposure.

You must optimize your website to get those coveted top positions,  I found this video on the Google algorithm update.

If you have been in those top positions it may be wise to check that your site is still ranking well,  if it is not then you must take steps to bring it back to that top position.

Are you in an affiliate marketing business? Are you advertising your own products in the web? If yes, then you must make your website Search Engine Optimization (SEO) ready. This will boost your site’s natural, unpaid ranking in engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing.

The Name Matters

Before building a site, think of an appropriate domain name. This will be in the URL. If you are moving hosts, then it is the time to ponder if your domain name is still timely.

It is advised to have the nature of the business on the URL—not the name of the company. When  customers search the web, they key in their particular needs. They usually do not input the exact company name.

Edit settings on “robots.txt”

When search engine crawlers enter your site, they first read the robots.txt of your database. It contains instructions on how to view and what are the web pages to view. You may want to limit crawlers to important content, which is also viewable by the general surfers.
